Womxn Crush(ing It) Wednesdays: Carrie Fisher

It’s Wednesday and I’m back with another edition of WCW. Sorry for the hiatus my friends, I hate it when life gets in the way of rambling on about babes!

There are just so many amazing things to say about the late great Carrie Fisher. Her strength, wisdom and resilience on screen and off has inspired me for years. Whether it was passionately speaking out about mental illness or calling the entertainment industry on all of it’s never ending sexist bullshit, she never apologized for who she was and that’s a way of thinking we can all make more room for in our lives.

So last week when Vanity Fair released Annie Leibovitz’s photoshoot with the cast of The Last Jedi the images of Carrie truly broke my heart.

Here is Fisher with her daughter Billie Lourd who plays Lieutenant Kaydel Connix in the upcoming film.

While I can’t wait to see The Last Jedi (spoiler alert: I’m a big Star Wars fan, if that wasn’t already obvious enough), I know it will be bittersweet. Having to say goodbye to General Organa, is not something I’m looking forward to. Ugh will we ever escape the devastating effects of basically everything that happened in 2016?!

I’ll see you next week and stay angry!

Say Hi!
